The beloved, feared, reclusive, possibly nonexistent academic interviews Claire Chase of the International Contemporary Ensemble, the Chicago/New York group whose voyeuristic videocam staging of Peter Maxwell Davies's Eight Songs for a Mad King was one of the sharpest shows I saw last season. Of course, it wasn't quite at the tenured level....
