Tomorrow a very big concept makes its New York debut: Make Music New York. Inspired by Fête de la Musique, the annual Paris extravaganza, this one-day festival will link together hundreds of professional and amateur performances across the city, essentially making official — and somewhat more obvious — the fact that New York is already awash in music from morning until late night. There are events in every imaginable genre; highlights in the classical field may include a lunchtime Bargemusic concert of the Four Seasons, midday performances by Metropolitan Opera singers and New York Philharmonic musicians in the Lincoln Center plaza, a 3PM Lukas Ligeti event in Morningside Park, a rush-hour concert by the New York Madrigal Ensemble in Grand Central Station, and an early-evening rendition of Terry Riley's In C by Composers Collaborative on Cornelia Street in the West Village. The listings are hosted by Time Out New York.
